Part of the Neo Noir Series of fiction ripped from lines in top neo soul songs, GETTING IN THE WAY is about to submissions of short fiction about side chicks and wives who decide it is time to make some permanent changes in their relationship status.
Stories should focus on the line from the Jill Scott hit that says, “I been a lady up til now don’t know how much more I can take.”
Need a little motivation? Think Obsession (Beyonce and Idris Elba), Fatal Attraction (Michael Douglas and Sharon Stone). BUT - add the element of another relationship or challenge no one was aware of.
Pull out some suspense, definitely high drama, passion (without being erotic), romance, broken hearts and the search to heal in the arms of secret lovers.
We're waiting for your submissions.
Submissions:
1) Must not exceed 7500 words.
2) Should be related to the the storyline theme and plot ideas detailed above.
3) Must have at least 3 characters - with a strong protagonist and antagonist.
4) Should have settings, scenes and character descriptions that are well crafted, vivid and engaging
5) Should be original! No part of any other written work should be presented as your own!
6) Should include a cover page with the Title, Author's name, Author's contact information and word count - centered on the page.
7) Should be typed at least 12 point, not in all bold, not in any cursive font. Arial, Verdana, Times New Roman, Cambria are all welcomed font styles.
